Our dbt™ Data Modeling Challenge is heating up, so it's time to give a proper welcome to our brilliant judges; Emily Hawkins, Jake Hannan, and John Chen.

Emily is a rising analytics star and an expert in the field of dbt™ and is currently a Senior Analytics Engineer at GlossGenius. Previously, she led the analytics data platform at Drizly (acquired by Uber for $1.1B), where she designed and worked on a modern data stack using tools like Fivetran, Snowflake, dbt, Dagster, Looker, and Census. She is a respected and frequent speaker and educator, giving presentations on topics such as data modeling, the modern data stack, and analytics engineering.

Jake, Data Platform at Sigma Computing, has a proven track record in delivering end-to-end data solutions and actionable insights for Fortune 30 companies and lean start-ups. Prior to joining Sigma, Jake led Analytics Engineering teams at Gopuff and held data roles at Slalom, Inspire, and Comcast. Additionally, he co-instructs the course 'Analytics Engineering with dbt™' at Uplimit alongside Emily.

John holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from Rice University and recently completed his PhD in the same field. His career journey includes co-founding Valhalla Healthcare, where he served as CTO, and working as an applied scientist at Microsoft. Currently, John is a senior machine learning engineer at Meta and an Analytics Consultant for the National Basketball Association (NBA).
